In this video, we show how easy it is to blend and composite images using the new masking tools in Photo RAW 2024.5. Watch as we cut out a person from one photo and place them into a stunning landscape. We add realistic touches like water, shadows, and reflections, boost the midtones, swap the sky for a moody vibe, and finish with a cool LUTs filter to make the colors pop. ON1 Photo RAW 2024.5 makes experimenting with your photography fun and lets your imagination run wild with your editing!

Hi Dylan
The new masking tools are impressive. You are doing a good job, as a salesman…
Seriously, I already have my own library of textures, skies, etc. Clearly I am also going to have to add a library of people to be ‘painted in’ to composite images. π

Excellent demo of the masking, but not a big fan of that particular LUT.

Agree with that. And, Dylan, you don’t seem to blink at all!

Hallo Dylan,
A fantastic video demo, I’ve been waiting for similar videos for a long time. For Photoshop you will find similar “assembly” tutorials on various sites. What also interests me is putting together “dream worlds” and compositions with all kinds of visual elements. Hopefully the experts you are will give us the know-how to do this in ON1 as well and I will soon be able to ditch Photoshop completely.

Dylan,
great video and some useful tips.
Unfortunately, when you use the excellent Super Select AI tool, there is no option to delete the selection on the layer. I used the following workaround:
β Select the areas you want to delete with Super Select AI
β Use any local adjustment or effect to create the mask
β Copy the mask created
β Paste it into the mask for the layer, invert it if needed
β Delete the local adjustment or effect created to create the mask
β Add a new layer to fill the deleted area
Maybe you can talk to product management to add the possibility to use Super Select AI for masking layers also. Seems like it would be simple for ON1 to add βLayersβ to the popup menu that appears when you right click and have the mask transferred to whatever layer is active.

Brilliant, but I don’t seem to be able to do this if I only want to move one person when there are more than one in the image, also I used it to move a sheep onto a field, but when I went into regions there wasn’t animals listed, so I couldn’t do it. The listing box seems to change depending on what the subject is, is there someway I can get all the regions everytime.

good tuto. How, like LRC, do you edit a radial mask later, changing its handles, orientation,… ? In LRC any mask has its own “pin” and totally non destructive.
