Hi Matt,
I just watched this nice video and tried it out instantly.
Somehow I wasn’t aware of how the AI mask brush works and that it’s not necessary to be precise when defining the drop/keep areas.
It works really nice and maybe I’ll improve some of my last edits a bit now ;-).
Best regards from Germany,
Christian

I’m a rank amateur with this program and I find that you use many steps which you don’t explain. Makes it very difficult for me to follow. Additionally, you talk very fast.
Slow down and explain each step, please. You know the program very well and assume that I do also. Not true!
Unfortunately, there’s no good book available to help. Makes learning a slow process.
Thanks

I agree with Bob, difficult to see what buttons to press/select etc.
Thanks for the “overall” knowledge; but a how-to guide would be most helpful for those of us who are newbys.

I agree. I tried to follow this and ended up with a mess. I think this software is trying to run before it can walk.

What a great review of AI masking. It seemed complicated until I watched you do it. Now I need to see how it compares in my hands to select object in PS. Thank you.

This tutorial is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. I have just started my birding photography journey and I am sticking to what I call “Backyard Birding” to practice my skills. I am finding that I am blowing out the background of all the light colored houses in my neighborhood.

Excellent video!! Addresses a frustration that I experience much too often in how to draw attention to a particular object without making it harder than it has to be. Well done and thank you!!

Hi! Good helpful video, Matt, as always.
I just whish I was as quick as you, but I don’t have your knowledge about the program and this is your job so, I’m not complaining.
I’m patient and retired so, I have all the time I want to pause and rewind the video as many times I need to get thing done. Ah! Ah! Ah!
Thank you and stay healthy.

I don’t think any of the presenters speaks to quickly its that our brain works too slowly – UNTIL – one watches the ON1 Foundation videos. This is the place to start and you do not need to ask me how I know that.

As someone new to this, I’m finding that presenters do rush over some things. I’ve ditched Lightroom [6] and am used to its radial filter and brush. This idea of rough lines is new to me and I need to know exactly which keys and buttons are being used. These might be 2nd nature to presenters, but not to new users. Speak more quickly in advanced videos by all means, but please not in foundation videos.
I am a native English speaker too – this must be really hard for anyone who isn’t.

I tried to follow this video to edit a wildlife image.
I used AI mask.
Something happened and the background became a grey and white checkerboard.
Even worse – I couldn’t get rid of it. It would not reset. The rest tabs have absolutely no effect. Closing and reopening didn’t help either.
There is no help available.
I am using the trial version.
This is not encouraging.
