Hey Dylan, This is a very clear and informative video. It looks like the screen is magnified so that the butttons you are clicking on can be identified far better than prior. It certainly makes learning much easier for me. Keep on ticking, you’re doing great. Thanks.

An excellent video tutorial that increases the value of On1 within my toolset. The removal of the “halo effect” was especially useful. I have one problem remaining. I have some portraits with a green screen background and the green is relecting on to a light colored shirt. This is a bigger halo effect, so chiselling the edges does not work. How can I remove the green reflection or glow on the lighth grey shirt and even on the subject’s skin?
On February 16, 2023 at 9:14 am Dylan Kotecki replied:
Thank you for watching Peter 🙂 you could use the perfect brush and target the green color if the chisel tool isn’t working they way you want it to

Great video, but I think one tip was missed. When using the shift-click to draw straight lines, you don’t have to have the brush the same size on both ends. It can be small on one end and large on the other to allow painting triangular shapes in one step.

Great tip Rick! I showed this one in the latest Plus course where we discuss brushing. Thanks for mentioning it 🙂

Did I miss something or did the hair isolation look terrible in the first/second images? Dylan, did you need to make more adjustments to the settings or was something else at work?

Hey Adam, you could always do more tweaking to fine-tune if needed! Thanks for watching!

ON1 sent out a questionnaire a couple of weeks ago that I filled out. This video, didn’t exactly, teach what I was looking for or asked for, but it showed ways to accomplish similarities that I was needing. Thanks, ON1 for continuing to think of what your clients need.

Like many, I greatly enjoyed the video. I especially enjoyed seeing the chisel brush and double click. I use it a lot. I also enjoyed the blur on the Cat Hair. It fixed the awkward yet did not remove the effect from the cat.
I will have to watch thid video at least one more time to pick up more of the tips…

This seems like a great video on cleaning up masks. It was clear and easy to follow.
I’ve used Photoshop since v3.5. Not a complete stranger to these things.
Pardon my ignorance – I’m a brand new user, 1st day, trying to follow along.
Crashing and burning repeatedly. I picked one image and have masked, remasked, perfect masked, refined, and who knows what else, till I’m exhausted. Odd exception areas (like the one next to the arm of your model in the white dress; or like the hair near the head) don’t go away no matter which approach I use. And I’ve used all the ones described here, except for the blur brush.
My goal in these first few days is to decide if ON1 will work for me. I’m not a forums user, since apparently that requires further costs, which I’d prefer to avoid if I’m not going to use this product which looks lovely enough, but has me stymied.
Sorry to drag things off topic, if that is what I am doing. Feel free to delete this comment if so. If not, read on! I’ve already had several crashes and reported them all, and gotten a nice response from support for these known problems (not confidence building, I’ve got to say – five crashes or more in the first hour of use?). Saying sorry is great, but not creating a strong impression.
I say this only to indicate that I’m not shy about asking, but I’ve already posted a detailed trouble ticket and I figure this isn’t exactly a tech support issue.
I’d like to like your software. It’s not happening yet. I’ll happily provide the test image I’m working with, or whatever else you might like from me, but right now the eval is not going as well as it might.
