This next video goes over some of the things I do before a trip to scout the location before I arrive and increase my chances of success. Some of the things covered…
- Planning my trips around a new moon.
- This isn’t always possible (like this trip to Oregon) but that doesn’t always mean the night sky will be out of play.
- Using an app called Star Walk to figure out exactly where the Milky Way will be relative to certain landmarks or locations I will be visiting.
- How I use Google Maps to get a visual representation of where I’m going and drop pins at points of interest along my route and/or area.
