In this lesson, I’ll share five easy tips to enhance your fireworks photos using ON1 Photo RAW. First, use a luminosity mask to target and enhance the brightness and color of fireworks while protecting other areas. Next, employ a color range mask to adjust specific colors within the fireworks, like brightening or increasing saturation. You can also target specific regions using either a luminosity or color range mask and refine these masks with tools like the masking brush or masking bug. Fourth, increase contrast to reduce smoke around the fireworks. Lastly, for a creative touch, add fireworks to a scene by layering another firework photo and blending it in using the “lighten” blending mode. These techniques will help you bring your fireworks photos to life.

I found the examples of using luminosity and colour range masks very helpful. Always good to see the detail worked through and to understand the options that can be used within these powerful masking tools.

Thank you Dylan. Each time I watch one of your tutorials I get incrementally better at my overall editing (and sometimes I move forward more than incrementally). My ease at using the amazing tools of On1 keeps improving. Well done.

great video Dylan. Some of them were new to me.
but a comment – I’ve always thought On1 did not have a radial mask. You using an edge mask and calling it a radial mask…. If it is a radial mask which is a terminology everyone uses why not label it as a radial mask to save confusion.
