What a fantastic month it’s been in ON1 Plus!
We began the year with a fresh series, diving into tips and cool tricks using ON1 Photo RAW. It’s been amazing to see everyone getting involved in the Weekly Tip Video series, where you can vote on and suggest topics.
We’re also kicking off a new photo critique and edit webinar called Edit Explorer. In Edit Explorer, you can share your photo with the applied edit, and ON1 experts will provide tips and helpful advice on tweaking your edit.
Hudson also released a new video discussing how to use search styles and edit various images in Photo RAW.
Let’s jump into what we explored this January:
Join Hudson in this video capturing his family trip to Australia. He’ll guide you through using ON1 Photo RAW 2024, demonstrating step-by-step editing with advanced techniques like masking and Brilliance AI to transform his raw photos.
We started the month by delving into the art of creating custom watermarks in ON1 Photo RAW. From using default watermarks to mastering the text tool, we learned how to add a personalized touch to our images. It’s amazing to see the impact a unique watermark can make!
Next up was a deep dive into the versatile use of color droppers in ON1 Photo RAW. We explored how to craft precise color range masks and paint with color using local adjustments. Being able to select specific hues and make targeted modifications has really elevated the quality of my images effortlessly.
Towards the end of the month, we explored the powerful world of luminosity masks. Learning to create and use these masks to target specific bright and dark areas in an image has been a game-changer for me in terms of advanced editing techniques.
Live Edit on Mountain Landscapes
We also had an exciting Live Edit session focused on mountain landscapes. It was awesome to have Plus members vote on the topic we worked on during the session. We discussed styling and modifying mountain landscapes, covering various filters, local adjustments, and creative editing techniques. If you missed it, you can always catch up!
Loyalty Rewards – Cinematic LUTs
As a token of appreciation for your loyalty, Plus members received Cinematic LUTs in January. These LUTs are a game-changer, transforming photos into cinematic masterpieces with stunning color grades, contrasts, and tones. I’ve been having a blast experimenting with them, and they really breathe life into my images.
In the upcoming Edit Explorer, we’ll explore photo editing, focusing on potential in each image. We’ll guide you in critiquing and modifying photo edits with ON1 Photo RAW, offering practical tips. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a curious onlooker, Edit Explorer is your passport to accessible photo editing adventures. Participants can join by including BOTH the raw file and the sidecar file, allowing us to view the changes you’ve already made. Submit your photo and sidecar file here. We will randomly select 3-5 photos (depending on how many we can get through) and discuss them during the lesson!
Looking Forward to February
Upcoming in February we have more Weekly Tip Videos, a Live Edit, Style Talk, Edit Explorer, and a brand new course!

As a Plus Member, thanks for all of the effort that On1, and people working for ON1, have put into making Plus so good, 🙂
-Edit Explorer sounds fun, but when I read the warning on Dropbox to the effect that my personal email address would be ‘published by Dropbox’, I became a little worried. I get more than enough SPAM as it is, I really don’t want more.
-I’d like to enter an image, but is there a better way to do this ?
Best wishes

Thanks for being apart of the community, David! 🙂
Dropbox won’t send you any emails (besides maybe a confirmation on the upload) or spam. It’s an incredibly easy way to upload images on your end and it makes it easy to access for us.
Cheers to a fun 2024!

PS We have seen reports of heavy snow in North America. So I hope that in Oregan it has been heavy enough for great pictures, without stopping you from getting to the locations. : – )
