Our last in house photo contest was both inspiring and fun to host. Since you guys were so awesome in your voting I wanted to go ahead and post the April contest and let you guys choose your favorite! The theme for last month’s contest was Spring/Floral. This was an open ended theme. I wanted people to enter a photo that either gave their interpretation of “Spring” or they could just submit a “Floral” image. Either was accepted.
Please remember all the photos I am posting belong to our wonderful employees of ON1. I print each photo that is entered and it decorates our office for the month. Please keep your comments kind and encouraging! I will have a prize for the winner selected by all of you! Thank you for taking the time to read and vote. I hope you enjoy everyone’s hard work and beautiful entries!
Here are the Top 10 entries. Comment with your favorite entry number!
Entry #1:
Entry #2
Entry #3
Entry #4
Entry #5
Entry #6
Entry #7
Entry #8
Entry #9
Entry #10
As the host, I am exempt from playing but I like to be supportive and encourage my team to enter. So here is my “Spring/Floral” photo that I wanted to share. Some of you may have seen this photo in recent emails. I love the perspective of this image.
*If you are interested in playing along with our May contest I’ll be making a post soon with details. If you are a plus member you can have a head start by checking out the post HERE.
If you missed the March contest post you can view the top 10 entries with the theme “Water” HERE.

I love the dry humor of photo #1! But I have to say my favorites are #3, showing the beautiful landscape with tulips which always is associated with spring, as well as #6 for it’s beautiful Macro shot of color with raindrops, always a spring condition of the weather. Sorry, just couldn’t choose 1. Great entries all.

#7 for me. I like the lines of the furnishings as well as the bright green of the hedge. Makes me think of getting outside with a cool drink on a warm spring day!

Difficult to choose–they are all excellent photographs, and I had to laugh with #1 right out of the gate–but I have to choose #4 as the top banana.

My contest favorit is Entry # 5 – super cool.

Although, I would have not centered the composition, my vote goes to #1 because it is:
1. simple
2. unique
3. creative
I also like the creative use of shadows.

My choice is # 7 because it’s a formal composition (for cartesian minds) that says «let’s have lunch outside». Every element is placed in calculated manner – to the millimetre. Colors are saturated but not too much.
Second choice is #3.
Who is the winner of previous contest?

Thanks for the reminder…Im going to go comment on the last contest with the winners so everyone can see. I was counting votes and there were two photos that were in the running so I actually gave them both a prize. The popular votes were for image #2 and image #9. #9 also won with our in house judges. This contest has been a lot harder to judge and there is not a clear winner yet! Hoping to get a few more blog votes. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

#3 for me. Love the contrast between the dark green and blue/purple sky, while the yellow daffodils in the foreground draw your eyes to the sun.

Dang, this is tough as I like them all. Since I can pick only one, I have to go with #4. Number 10 is the runner up, with the remaining ones all tied for third place.

They are all excellent photographs but landscapes are my thing and I love lots of color so #3 gets my vote.
