Our AI models for sky replacement are constantly evolving to provide the best results in ON1 Photo RAW, the ultimate raw photo editor. We will soon introduce a new model, ‘Model B’, in the upcoming update (free for Photo RAW 2023 owners). Model B offers improved performance and results when replacing certain skies. However, we still recommend using our original ‘Model A’ as the default option. If you encounter a sky that Model A struggles to replace, we recommend giving Model B a try for optimal sky replacement results.

Good news. What about the optional sky package I purchased from ON1. Is that covered with this revision ?

Those skies will work, but we aren’t adding any new skies in the update.

Love this update. Thanks for upgrading the already amazing ON1 experience throughout the year rather than just when it comes out. Much appreciated.

Just saw this video on model B and it has identified a problem I recently encountered while processing an image of some Canada Geese flying. The Model A sky swap kept recoloring the body of the geese. Needless to say I didn’t use it, but I bet the model B will be spot on correct. Thanks for working on this enhancement.

What a great company. You give us your “extensions” built into the product, and allows us to purchase them separately if we use another product as primary. You continue to make updates to the product within a year without charge as well as the ability to buy the software instead of just renting it. Thank you for your updates.

Let me echo George’s comments. Sky Swap AI is usually very good for the vast majority of landscapes, though it typically fails for wildlife/BIF. Though it may identify the body of the subject, typically, it doesn’t mask out elements within it. Most of the time, one has to spend some time altering the mask, though it becomes complicated especially on the margins where the Sky Swap AI mask is of partial density. Will model B target these cases or is it only for landscapes?

When will ON 1 come out with a book describing all ON1 features?
Also, I find it hard to download and insert brushes etc. into my Windows version of ON 1 and Photoshop.

The user guide is a great resource. It’s about 264 pages of every feature.
