ON1 Effects 2024.5 brings major improvements, including a more versatile Super Select AI Tool that can now select any area for quick adjustments and an enhanced Quick Mask AI Tool for effortless masking. Performance has been significantly boosted, with faster raw file opening and smoother editing, thanks to optimized GPU use and reduced memory consumption. The installer is now smaller, allowing quicker downloads and frequent updates. Additionally, support for new cameras and lenses has been expanded.

  • Improved Super Select AI Tool—The original point, click, and edit tool just got a whole lot better. The improved Super Select AI tool can now select anything, not just objects it recognizes. This makes adding adjustments to areas like clothing, hair, skin, individual flowers, etc., much faster. Just click on an object or region, select an adjustment, and boom, you are done. There is no need to create layers and then add filters and masks.
  • Improved Quick Mask AI Tool — Similar to the improved Super Select AI tool, the improved Quick Mask AI tool gives you point-and-click editing to masks, making it fast and easy to blend layers and filters.
  • Improved Performance — These are the biggest performance boosts yet! Almost everything in Effects feels faster. Opening raw files is up to twice as fast, which makes it feel almost instant. Zooming, panning, and brushing are buttery smooth, even on complex photos with many layers and filters. We have accomplished this by discovering new ways to utilize the GPU and reduce memory usage.
  • Smaller Installer and More Frequent Updates — We have re-engineered how the app is delivered. Now, the installer is much smaller, so it is faster to download and install. When you launch the app, it checks for updates and automatically downloads any missing or updated components. This allows us to update things like camera support, AI models, and extra content more often, making updates much smaller.

Version 2024.5 is a free update for all Effects 2024 owners and subscribers. Just launch the app to get the latest version via the in-app update dialog. New customers and those upgrading from previous ON1 versions can purchase ON1 Effects 2024.5 here. Anyone can order a non-subscription license or subscribe. ON1 Effects 2024.5 is also available in the ON1 Everything Subscription Plans. Each of the new AI features and enhancements in ON1 Effects 2024.5 were also recently added to ON1 Photo RAW version 2024.5.1.
